In January 2023, the UK Government awarded Wildanet with 2 contracts (worth £36 million) to provide gigabit capable broadband to over 19,000 premises in South West Cornwall and Mid Cornwall. The award is part of the Government's £5 billion Project Gigabit to bring gigabit-capable broadband to hard-to-reach areas.
This contract covers Mid Cornwall west of Truro and Newquay, towards Fowey in the south and up to Boscastle in the north, covering around 9,750 premises.
This contract will cover around 9,500 premises in South West Cornwall, south of a line stretching approximately from Hayle on the north coast to Mawnan Smith on the south coast.
